Policy Analysis Report on Mitigating the Impact of Covid-19 for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises

This book presents the final report of the study on “Covid-19 Impact Management Policy Analysis for MSMEs” conducted by the Ministry of National Development Planning / National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) of the Republic of Indonesia. This study aims to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on MSME businesses in Indonesia, identify alternative policies that the government can take to help MSMEs adapt and survive during the pandemic and accelerate business recovery after the pandemic. This study uses primary data sources through a survey of 2,535 MSMEs in 17 provinces during July-September 2020 as well as FGDs involving various stakeholders.

Progress Report: Strengthening Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in the BANGGA Papua Program

This report analyses the implementation of GESI principles in the BANGGA Papua program and was informed by a combination of primary and secondary data sources, including interviews and focus group discussions undertaken across the three pilot districts in March 2020. The report and its recommendations draw on and complement the BANGGA Papua Process Evaluation conducted in June 2020. The report was undertaken by the Australian Government-funded development partnership, Governance for Growth (KOMPAK). The intended audience for the report is primarily the Papua Provincial Government and relevant BANGGA Papua implementing agencies, along with Government of Indonesia stakeholders at the national level and their development partners.

Lessons from Paradigta Academy: Mobilizing Villages Strengthens Women's Leadership

In 2021 Paradigta Academy is entering its 6th year of its journey, and has developed with various curricula that respond to changes and developments that occur in various contexts in Indonesia. KOMPAK's support in the first three years of pilot program development has enabled Paradigta Academy to build a strong foundation for its development and sustainability to date. We welcome and appreciate KOMPAK's efforts to document the Pradigta Academy and publish it as a book to identify models of women's empowerment, and to disseminate the experience and knowledge of Paradigta Academy in developing women's leadership. Hopefully this book can provide inspiration for women's empowerment and leadership stakeholders to achieve Indonesia's development goals that are sustainable, prosperous and provide justice for all Indonesian people.

COVID-19 Impacts on People With Disabilities in Indonesia

This study, an In-Depth Look at COVID-19 Impacts on People with Disabilities in Indonesia, has provided us with important evidence on the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on people with disabilities in Indonesia, and how the barriers they face contribute to their vulnerability to shocks. The study provides comprehensive analyses on the different aspects of the COVID-19 impacts including income, employment, access to health services and access to education. Beyond the impacts of the crisis, the study shed lights on the extent to which Indonesia’s social protection system have reached and helped people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Extension Options For The Special Autonomy Fund 2022–2041: Towards a Prosperous and Self-Sufficient Tanah Papua

The Otsus policy for Papua and Papua Barat, based on Law (UU) No. 21 of 2001, is ending in 2021. Meanwhile, the poverty rate in Papua is still the highest in Indonesia with significant gap in achieving quality development outcomes compared to other regions. Improved planning and implementing mechanisms are needed to accelerate the achievement of development targets in Tanah Papua. To that end, KOMPAK conducted a study on, “Extension Options for Special Autonomy Fund 2022–2041: Towards a Prosperous and Self-Sufficient Tanah Papua.” The study analyzed options for the sustainability of the Special Autonomy Fund in Tanah Papua after 2021.
